Chi Tung Chinese & Thai Restaurant
9560 S Kedzie Ave, Evergreen Park, Blue Island,
Some of the best Thai food around. Very busy and the wait is usually 1/2 hr on the weekend. Small foyer area for the amount of people.

Home Run Inn
4254 W 31st St, Chicago, Blue Island,
Lou Malnati's is okay. I give it 3 stars because being a true chicagoan, we don't eat much deep dish pizza that is for tourists, so is Uno, Ginos and Due. A think pizza favorite (stuffed) is Giordano's. All of these are rated high because most tourists don't know about the best. The BEST PIZZA in Chicago is Home Run Inn on 31st Street between pulaski and Cicero aves. The other Home Run Inns around the suburbs sometimes have too much salt, but still put out a great pizza. I even used Home Run Inn in my novel "Love's Bouquet". NY, your sausage has no flavor and you crust is bland and cardboard like. Home Run Inn was great according to my NY friends. Best thin pizza in the world.

Lou Malnati's Pizzeria
439 N Wells St, Chicago, Blue Island,
Lots of places to eat in Chicago but we were looking for a smaller Italian place to dine. This was the place and the italian food was excellent.I got the Mostaccioli ala Malnati and it was great. This was loaded with cheese and it was very very tasty and hit the spot. There was so much in this bowl i barely ate it all. My honey got the lasagna and she really enjoyed it. We also ordered the Mozzarella stick and there was nothing fancy about them, yet they were good. When i go back though i'll get what the guy across from me ordered. The Three-Cheese Bread, that dish was loaded with cheese and it looked great. The prices are very reasonable as well, and its in a nice location. This is walking distance froma lot of hotels in river North area.

Maple Tree Inn
13301 Western Ave, Blue Island, Blue Island,
I have been to Maple Tree several times and never had the same meal twice. The menu varies and so does the selection of craft beers. When folks come into town this is the place I take them for an evening of great food and a chance to talk in an unhurried environment. The main theme is Cajun but my wife does not like her food hot. She was cautious about this place the first time I took her there. Now she looks for excuses to go. Deserts are good also so leave a little room and take half the entree home in a box.
